Stylize Your Shutters with Options like Craftsman Shutter Frames in Gainesville

June 26, 2017

A misconception we sometimes hear from Gainesville homeowners is that “all shutters look the same.” Let’s eliminate any misconception – that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Many people don’t know just how many options you have when it comes to choosing plantation shutters in Gainesville, and what kind of impact those options can have. Possibly chief among those options is the type of shutter frame you go with.

Gainesville Custom Shutter Frames

Your options for shutter frames will depend on four things primarily:

  • The style of your window.

  • The depth of the window sill.

  • Whether you need to have an inside or outside mount.

  • Your own personal style.

A few of our shutter frames are only available in certain materials, like our Polywood® faux wood shutters, some are only available with an inside or outside mount of a window, and some will be a better match for your existing trim, like our Craftsman frame shutters, ideal for Craftsman style homes and offered exclusively by Sunburst.

Here are some of our most popular shutter frames among Gainesville homeowners.

Craftsman Frame Shutters - You can’t read a single article about contemporary home design without seeing Craftsman style. This Sunburst-exclusive frame was designed specifically for Craftsman style homes and similar designs. A Craftsman frame offers a simple, clean look, so no part of your home looks out of place compared to the rest. If getting back to your Craftsman roots is your desire, this is your shutter frame. Currently offered in Polywood and reclaimed wood shutters only.

L-Frame Shutters - An L-frame is probably the simplest and most functional frame we offer. They have a sleek, contemporary look, and tend to be the easiest to work around for specialty windows. The L-frame can work as either an inside or outside mount, in case you want to keep your existing window trim in place, and is offered in every single one of our shutters.

Z-Frame Shutters - Z-frames are a widely-chosen style because they offer a stylized, classy look to your window, similar to bass or crown molding. The name “Z-frame” comes from the shape of its exterior, which is mounted on the inside of the window jamb, but wraps around to the outside in a “Z” shape. That wrapping shape lets it substitute for window trim if your windows don’t have any existing trim. Z-frames are available in all of our shutter materials.

Decorative Frame Shutters - A decorative frame has a lot going on in the style department. With lots of texture and an eye-catching shape, this frame looks fantastic for windows that don’t have any trim, or if you want to cover your existing trim. Decorative frames are available in Polywood faux wood and Ovation hardwood shutters.
