Announcing Spring 2017s Share Your Shutters Winner

Eric Ramsey

Spring is blowing by here in Gainesville, but we haven’t forgotten about our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest. Our winner for Spring is Tonya S., who shared a few photos of her home that truly show what shutters can do for a home.

Tonya’s home features some beautiful new Polywood® plantation shutters in the dining room. Because those shutters are closed, you can really get a look at how well plantation shutters can really help you control light. Envision that dining room with a slightly softer light; it’s almost a great setting for a romantic candlelit dinner, right? With plantation shutters in your dining room, you can capture the mood you want no matter the time of day.

Also worth mentioning is how the white shutters perfectly match the white trim on the baseboard and the white ceiling. Those neutral tones make the black table and the hardwood floor’s texture stand out even more.

But that wasn’t her only photo submission. Below is another photo she submitted of her new sliding barn door shutter!

rustic barn door shutter

We love this barn door shutter for a lot of reasons. The first reason is that it looks fantastic. The homespun look of the wood paneling with that sleek jet black slider up top give an enduring yet relaxed look. What we like even more than the looks is the practicality of the shutter. Her barn door shutter sits off the window frame, so it can control the light levels while still letting the window operate.

Since her shutter sits on the frame, Tonya can still make use of her window sill. For example, if she wanted to set a plant on the sill to get sunlight, she’s even able to close the shutter to let it soak up some rays while still blocking sun glare from outside.

According to Tonya this is the third time she’s chosen window treatments from Sunburst Shutters, and we want to thank her for continuing to choose us for all her window design needs. For winning our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest, Tonya received a $100 gift card to a local restaurant.

If you want to show off your shutters and possibly be featured on our next Share Your Shutters contest, we want to see them! Share a photo of your shutters using the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or submit a photo to our Facebook page. We’d love to show off some shutters from a Floridian next time!

Or if looking at Tonya’s home makes you feel like your space is missing a little something, we’d love to help. Call 813-602-5966 today to talk to one of Sunburst Shutters Gainesville’s window design experts to get started.
